BE ART is a fluid experimental cultural project grounded in collaboration, founded by Silvia Russo in a private house in the historical centre of Messina, Sicily, in December 2017.

In 2019, it welcomed Irene Falsone as part of the collective.

 

From the very beginning, it chose to root itself in the complex and stratified landscape of the Mediterranean as a way to explore the role of art in processes of social, territorial, and cultural transformation.

It embodies a form of radical conviviality, starting in domestic and intimate spaces to transform them into places of connection,

collective creation, and community-based projects.

 

Through the intentional reimagining of everyday spaces, private spaces become stages for artistic expression and community exchange, highlighting the project’s inherently collective dimension. Its itinerant and adaptive nature allows it to respond to the shifting needs of local communities, forging alliances between multiple personalities and environments.

BE ART functions as an open platform, oriented towards amplifying emerging, marginalised and underrepresented voices, through the creation of accessible contexts. In doing so, it generates empathetic and transversal connections, placing relationships at the core of the creative process, which is understood as a political act of transformation, coexistence, and social renewal.
